HONG KONG, 23 February 2023 – The UK’s leading housebuilder David Wilson Homes has appointed JLL to showcase its brand new development in Thanington, on the outskirts of Canterbury, to international buyers. Surrounded by protected woodlands, Saxon Fields will offer a range of new two, three and four-bedroom homes.

Having launched off-plan initially, the first phase will comprise of 102 new two, three and four-bedroom homes. Each home has been designed to maximise energy efficiency, with features including low energy lighting, A-rated integrated appliances and high levels of insulation.

Designed with nature in mind, there are a number of biodiversity areas throughout the development alongside species-rich grassland, a wildlife corridor, hedgehog highways and bee-friendly planting. More than 100 bird boxes will also be installed to allow swifts, sparrows and other similarly-sized birds to safely nest. For residents there are numerous play parks, approximately 40 acres of green open spaces and allotments planned, along with a network of footpaths and cycle routes to connect residents within the development and beyond.

Natalie Perry, Sales and Marketing Director for David Wilson Kent, comments: “Saxon Fields is set on the outskirts of Canterbury. Residents will benefit from being within walking distance of the historic city yet retain a rural feel, thanks to the expansive green spaces and protected woodland that envelops the site. There is a strong appetite for new homes in Canterbury, particularly from families looking to settle close to good schools.”

Saxon Fields is located on the edge of Canterbury, and takes its name from the historic Anglo-Saxon settlements in the city. The development forms part of a wider consortium scheme that will deliver onsite facilities including a primary school, sports pitches, community centre, care home and allotments.

Residents will also be within walking distance of a number of Outstanding and Good schools, including Wincheap Foundation Primary School, the Canterbury Primary School and St Thomas Catholic Primary School. There are a range of shops, restaurants and cafes nearby, notwithstanding the diverse choice of amenities in Canterbury itself, where the high street is set to undergo a £1.2million regeneration project.

Saxon Fields is well connected with Canterbury East Station a 20 minute walk and Canterbury West Station around a 35 minute walk, offering high speed rail services link to London St Pancras in 55 minutes. The A2 is nearby for travel by car, easily transporting residents south through Kent or north towards London, whilst the picturesque seaside town of Whitstable is around a 20 minute drive.

Currently available at Saxon Fields is a collection of two, three and four-bedroom houses. Prices start from £314,995 for a two-bedroom home.
