Strategic shop location with high branding value

Having entered the Macau market in 2017, Under Armour was on the lookout for a suitable location for its next shop in the city, and based on a strong business partnership, chose the JLL Macau leasing team to represent them.

The brand had already opened stores in several of Macau’s major shopping centres and integrated resorts.

Having considered the client’s existing retail shop portfolio, our retail leasing specialists shortlisted a strategic, cost-effective shop location within Largo do Senado (Senado Square), one of Macau’s most iconic destinations and an integral part of the lives of the Macanese.

The challenge? The shop space only covers 200 square feet per floor on two storeys. Recognised as a game-changer in the performance apparel arena, Under Armour took the leap to collaborate with our leasing team to devise a retail shop strategy for a relatively compact space.

We advised on the store layout, display and operations to maximise the number of products shown to consumers. Under Armour was able to swiftly move into the store within seven days after being handed the space by the landlord.

The Senado Square store features eye-catching external signage for the brand that lights up on a major high street.
